This 1930’s-era WPA project, the largest park in Melrose, is a year-round recreational delight. Warm weather activities at the 230-acre park include golf (on a newly revitalized 18-hole course), fishing (in numerous ponds), hiking, bird watching and picnicking. In the winter, you can choose from skating, sledding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Don’t miss Slayton Memorial Tower, a stone observation structure offering views of the ocean and downtown Boston.
